Nail It!!!

If you want to nail it this season, remember to go short in order to go deep. This season women who would never do away with the fake frenchies, go short, and all natural to wear navy, aubergine or slate gray on their nails. Black is also back! These dramatic colors are the finishing beauty touch this season that will make a huge fashion statement.

Not sure where to start? I suggest you make a quick trip to a nail salon for nail trimming, shaping, and polish. This is a service you can truly do on the cheap...running as low as $7-$10 at some salons. Have the nail tech cut the nail just longer than the quick, and square, or round them off, avoiding tapering. Next your ready for polish. My recommendation for easy transition into this trend is Lincoln Park At Dark by OPI. This color will create fashion savvy without causing anxiety.

Spotlight: As you nail it this season remember who did it first.
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements (sin) that was against us, He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross." Colossians 2:14
Prayer: Jesus I thank you for taking my place on a cross, taking the nails, and suffering for me. I thank you because you paid the price for my sin I can expereince heaven. Thank you for being nailed for me! Amen!
Going deep into Jesus!

Fall-ing Away

Now that Fall is officially here feel free to fall back and play it cool with all the rich colors this season has to offer. If you have yet to get the guts to wear smouldering eyes or berry, rich lips, today is the day. This look by NARS Cosmetics got daring and played up both the eyes and lips. FYI this trend is hot this cooler season. If you prefer to play it safe smoke up those eyes or wine-up those lips.
Happy Fall!!
Spotlight: As you Fall away with all the rich trends this season, make sure your spiritual life doesn't do the same. Mark 4:17 tells us this,
"But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away."
I pray this Fall season as you watch the trees loose their leaves and appear dead, you will be reminded that they are rooted well. They are very much alive because their roots are strong. As you face times that make you feel lifeless be encouraged.
"Blessed is the man who does not fall away." Matthew 11:6
Be rooted well as you enjoy Fall-ing Away (smokey eyes and all!! :))

Polish Up

With summer over and our skin being at its dullest, it is most defiantly time to polish up that rutty completion and reveal that bright and healthy glow. If you want to go from drab to fab in as little as 15 minutes, with no down time, then enzymes are the choice for you.

My pick is Rhonda Allison's Pumpkin Parfait Enzyme. It is made up of all natural pumpkin enzymes that will seduce your senses while removing surface build up and enriching your skin with antioxidants. It will leave your skin looking polished and plump. Always cleanse your skin first then apply the enzyme.. 15 minutes later.. WAH LAH!!! The new you is revealed. Make sure to make a date with this, much needed guiltless pleasure, on a weekly basis. This will be sure to keep you putting a healthy, vibrant, face forward every time.

Caution: This could leave your taste buds teased with its Pumpkin Pie aroma!!

Wear Your Underwear

When it comes to the intimate details, never be caught off gaurd. Underwear for the eyelids is just as important as wearing Spanx underneath your new jersey dress. Skipping the step is a major faux pas at both ends. Get your eyes ready to embrace the smokey details of this Fall's eye trends with Urban Decay's Shadow Primer Potion. This creamy shadow primer does the work for you by establishing a base for your eyeshadow to stick to. Color is more bold and will stay for hours on end. I put my word on it.
Simply dab on a few dots of this everlasting goodness, blend out with your finger, and let your eyes scream...Let's Go!!!
Spotlight: The opening sentence to this post could never be more true. No one ever wants to be caught off guard, especially when it comes to the intimate, or personal issues of our life. Personally I cannot think of anything more personal than matters of the heart. Proverbs 4:23 says,
"Above all else guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life."
Could there be a more true statement?! I cannot tell you how many times I have let people and things penetrate my heart that later nearly caused cardiac arrest. How and why does this happen? Often times it is because we forget to cloth ourselves properly. In essence we leave off our underwear. Ephesians 6:10-20 has much to tell us about being properly clothed. Verse 11 tells us,
"Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil."
I encourage you to read the rest of Ephesians chapter 6. If you do not have a bible, check out www.biblegateway.com, where you can read it for free. When it comes to the intimate details, we don't want to be caught off gaurd. Remember your underwear, I mean armor (opps), and shout, Let's Go!!!

Loose it with Style

Loose waves are a trend all of us can take advantage of this fall. Yes, even if your hair is stick straight. If your hair is naturally curly you have several options: Apply a curl enhancing product after you towel dry like Bumble & bumble Defining Creme or Surf Spray. Squeeze into your hair with your hand from the bottom up to enhance your curls. You can also diffuse your hair with curl enhancing products to acheive the same look. For stick straight hair (I feel you ladies), blow dry your hair completley. Spray a heat protectant, like Sebastian Trilliant over your hair, and use a flat iron or larger curling iron to create curls. With this trend, the more natural looking the better, so don't worry about having your curls start at the top of your head. One thing I like about this trend is that it can last for more than a day. With a little phoophing (you know another way to spell it?) you are good to go for a second or even 3rd (gasp!) day. You can use Bumble and Bumble Tonic spray all over your hair to reactivate and restyle with products already in your hair.

Pump It Up!

While it may be true that you don't need to make a heart check while considering every trend, please take caution before sporting this one. Wearing these pumps will bring with it a confidence that is often hard to find while wearing Pumas. The range of price in these beauties are any where from a mortgage payment to a nice meal out. Being the fashionistas that we are if we will buy the ones that fit nicely into our budget.
This shoe is a MUST HAVE for fall. You can pair these with ANYTHING (skinny jeans, trousers, pencil skirt, long sleeve mini dress WITH leggings). Just practice strutting before you leave the house, and maybe even bring a flatter pair for emergencies. Enjoy the view from the top ladies!

Makeup Wardrobe Must-Haves

This season makeup is getting sultry and sophisticatingly sexy . Amidst all the high fashion runway cosmetics creations there are a few universal looks that all women can wear. Here are some wearable versions of the latest fall trends.
The hottest must-have this season is grey eye shadow, and it really does look amazing on every woman. Look for a grey hue that has a tiny hint of purple, but certainly still grey. This shade is considered the new neutral, so it can be worn with anything! Wear it smoothed over the lid and softly under the lash line or pair it with black liner for a smokier look. The perfect example of this shade is Chantecaille Lasting Eyeshadow in Patchouli.

For a little more drama on the lip, try the rich look of deep plum or wine shades. Choose a creamy matte formula like
Boots Botanics lipstick in Plum. Keep this lip hue from looking too harsh by pairing it with a Bambi brown eye shadow and a warm rose or mocha cheek.

Another big trend for fall is deep indigo blue eyeliner. It's an ellegant and modern look that is also really easy to pull off. Try Glo Minerals Eye Pencil in Twilight. Smudge it into the roots of your top lashes to keep it looking subtle. Pair the look with cinnamon colored blush and a glossy mocha lip.

Spotlight: Play with any one of these new looks to update your makeup wardrobe and stay on top of the trends this fall. As you update your makeup wardrobe, be reminded that there is a spiritual wardrobe that is offered to us freely that will always stand the test of time. "I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10
Let us know how you make this your own.

Name-Brand Makeup Targets Cheap

I just learned that Target has put out all of the resets for their name-brand cosmetics such as Boots, Jemma Kidd, and Pixi. Unlike department store, Target puts the products that are not part of the Fall story on clearance. Ask a Target store associate where they place all of their cosmetic clearance items. I just purchased Pixi glosses for $4.00ea, regularly priced at $18.00, Jemma Kidd concealer and i-radiance for $3.75, regularly priced at $18.00 a piece. I also found several formulas of Boots lipstick for $1.98, regularly priced from $7.99-$9.99. Also if you get super lucky you might find the brush sets, gloss sets, and evening sets on the cheap all from Pixi. Happy shopping!
