Cover Girl

It has been a long time since the cover of a magazine has taken my breath away, but this one did the job. Gwen Stefani looks amazing!!! Her look is breathtakingly (is this even a word? :0) gorgeous! She looks so soft and approachable...a look that never goes out of style. Want to re-create the look??? I mean who wouldn't want a look this good?! Here are the product must-haves:
Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer No.1 EvenSkin
JK Jemma Kidd Pro Finish Moisture Tint Collection
JK Jemma Kidd Stain/Flush/Blush Makeup Concentrate - Masquerade
Ardell Fashion Lashes Strip - Black (105)
Boots No7 Extreme Length Mascara - Black
Boots No7 Stay Perfect Eye Color Cream - Fudge
Boots No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick - Chic
There you have it girls. A face of gorgeous glam certain to have others screaming...Cover Girl!!!
And ummmmm, one more small thing...this look is yours for just under $100! This is a time you have full permission to go gossip to all. Your wallet will thank you!

Spotlight:
How often do we pick up a magazine, look at the cover model, flip through, look at the pictures, and put it back? I'm not at all suggesting that we fill our minds with tabloid garbage, but it do think it is interesting that we will stare all day at a face, and never find out more about the face we are so drawn to. Part of being a cover girl for a magazine is the interview that goes along with the photoshoot. She has a story to tell!!!
While reading about Gwen, I learned that she took breaks between shoots to nurse her little one, something I would have never known about her had I chosen not to look inside.
This forced me to ask myself two question that I now present to you:

1.) Are you creating and making up an attractive person that people are drawn to?
2.) If so, what is the storey on the inside (who am I reflecting, what am I promoting)?

2 Corinthians 5: 16-20 (The Message)
16-20Because of this decision we don't evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don't look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We're Christ's representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God's work of making things right between them. We're speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he's already a friend with you.

The truth is we are cover girls for something. Wear your external beauty in such a way that women not only flip through the pages, but look inside. Create the opportunity to tell someone else about Jesus, and be a...(Sing it with me)...Biblically Beautiful...Cover Girl!!!!!!

Makeup Wardrobe Must-Haves

This season makeup is getting sultry and sophisticatingly sexy . Amidst all the high fashion runway cosmetics creations there are a few universal looks that all women can wear. Here are some wearable versions of the latest fall trends.
The hottest must-have this season is grey eye shadow, and it really does look amazing on every woman. Look for a grey hue that has a tiny hint of purple, but certainly still grey. This shade is considered the new neutral, so it can be worn with anything! Wear it smoothed over the lid and softly under the lash line or pair it with black liner for a smokier look. The perfect example of this shade is Chantecaille Lasting Eyeshadow in Patchouli.

For a little more drama on the lip, try the rich look of deep plum or wine shades. Choose a creamy matte formula like
Boots Botanics lipstick in Plum. Keep this lip hue from looking too harsh by pairing it with a Bambi brown eye shadow and a warm rose or mocha cheek.

Another big trend for fall is deep indigo blue eyeliner. It's an ellegant and modern look that is also really easy to pull off. Try Glo Minerals Eye Pencil in Twilight. Smudge it into the roots of your top lashes to keep it looking subtle. Pair the look with cinnamon colored blush and a glossy mocha lip.

Spotlight: Play with any one of these new looks to update your makeup wardrobe and stay on top of the trends this fall. As you update your makeup wardrobe, be reminded that there is a spiritual wardrobe that is offered to us freely that will always stand the test of time. "I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10
Let us know how you make this your own.

Name-Brand Makeup Targets Cheap

I just learned that Target has put out all of the resets for their name-brand cosmetics such as Boots, Jemma Kidd, and Pixi. Unlike department store, Target puts the products that are not part of the Fall story on clearance. Ask a Target store associate where they place all of their cosmetic clearance items. I just purchased Pixi glosses for $4.00ea, regularly priced at $18.00, Jemma Kidd concealer and i-radiance for $3.75, regularly priced at $18.00 a piece. I also found several formulas of Boots lipstick for $1.98, regularly priced from $7.99-$9.99. Also if you get super lucky you might find the brush sets, gloss sets, and evening sets on the cheap all from Pixi. Happy shopping!

Fall Eye Rescuers

Even though fall is not quite here yet, the fall schedules definetly are! Everyone is feeling the effects of Red Eye. The must haves for this not so pretty face are simple. Visine, Green Tea and mascara are to the rescue! The makeup maven suggests saturating 2 green tea bags in cold water and resting them over your eyes for 5 minutes. Almost instantly you will see a reduction in puffiness as your eyes scream "Oooh la la"! Secondly grab a lengthening mascara and swipe a few coats on, such as Boots Extreme Length Mascara. A lash lengthening mascara creates the illusion of a more awake eye. This particular mascara has an amazing brush that makes creating full lashes a breeze. Lastly, spritz on a beautifully smelling fragrance to add pep to your step, and don't forget to toss Visine into your clutch for all day redness relief.

Spotlight: Perhaps you are saying, "It is more than just my eyes that need a rescue! I'm just down all around. Fretnot! There was a psalmist that felt the same way. He jotted down his thoughts in Psalm 43:5&6. "Why are you so downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbedwithin me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praisehim, my Savior and my God." Isn't it so awesome that in the middle of his depression the psalmist is commanding his own soul to praise God. Wow! What a lesson. The next time you rest for 5 minutes with green tea bags on your eyes, command your soul within you to praise God and put your hope in Him. Let us know how it goes. God we praise your glorious name for giving us victory over the fall days.
